Mitakuye
Oyasin
These Lakota (Sioux ) words I use
respectfully, as a wish, and as a prayer. Living in LOVE instead of fear, in wisdom and
harmony instead of discord,
Since
we ARE ALL in this - on this planet - in this LIFE -
together
The natural "side effects"
of this practice is - FREEDOM for all - as we each a practical and rewarding way of life! And so in saying Mitakuye
Oyasin and encourage awareness of the response-ability that comes with the BEST use of our personal
freedoms and goodness, beauty ways, peaceful ways, ways of love, and life always win - eventually. It is my prayer to share that awareness, so each may
GROW to KNOW and SHOW
the honorable and authentic human-beings we
are capable of BE-ing,
"It
is only in the eternal passive state induced by the receptive
influences, that the aggressive can be consumed, enveloped, and bound,
what Goethe called the 'eternal female and the all-uplifting.'

webmaster We hope you will share Bunny's web site of "heart healing" music with your friends and include Bunny's CD's in your library of songs that comfort and nurture your animal spirit. How can music be "heart healing"?
Listening from the heart. The drum (the heartbeat of mother earth and all it's breathing creatures), the human voice (which can mimic wild animal sounds as well as express with clarity the deepest yearnings of the human soul), the hand carved wooden flute (with a tone and a softness, yes, a "personality" all it's own)... these along with heart healing lyrics inspired from the energy and natural beauty of the ancient Black Hills, long thought by native peoples as the heart of the world (seen from a satellite the Black Hills actually resemble a beating heart) - all are artfully employed in the simple and soulful music of Bunny Sings Wolf. Her CD "Sacred Ground" draws the modern listener into these natural sounds gradually, as the multi-layered meanings in the lyrics begin to effect ancestral remembrances. While the ancient drum beats gently slow the heart rate, the nature inspired subject matter takes you on a refreshing walk through majestic forests and prairie grasslands where once large Buffalo and Elk grazed peacefully. Since it is the rocks and trees that inspire this peaceful music, Paha-Sapa, the Lakota word for "Black Hills" is given a "rock concert" "poluza" ending for a song that ends with the ancient sounds of Lakota "vocables" and rattles taking one from the present ever deeper into the prayerful and primal. In this music it is hoped that the thoughtful listener can find their own "Sacred Ground" - a deeper self-knowing - the thing that gives each of us a solid foundation and meaning in life. This is how "heart healing music" works.
All of the songs on this, Bunny's second album, are tuned to the hand carved flute, no digital sounds are used - so the notes are "different" from all those modern radio songs tuned to the standard electronic tuning fork. To the discerning thoughtful listener, this is true Earth music that rides on energies that may naturally heal a heart, a nation, a world. Listening From the HEART - how natural sounds can HEAL... Interesting that the period of time 1994-2004 (the time the United Nations declared as the "International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples") has contained some of the greatest changes in world history, creating "dis-ease" in the hearts of mankind by shaking the world's "ritual" belief systems - religious, political, and economic - down to the core. It's been said that
modern society's loss of ritual can cause psychic fragmentation - literally,
the state of being disconnected from our deeper selves. The result is
a sort of soul starvation - a deep, non-specific hunger that we've tried
desperately (and unsuccessfully) to feed with food, alcohol, sex, shopping,
constant "noise", gambling, drugs, work. "When a man's
knowledge is not in order, the more he has the greater will be his confusion"
(a quote from Sugar Blues). Many healers believe that this psychic fragmentation
is at the root of stress, and it's manifestation in many physically
related "dis-eases."
How do we tap back into the subconscious healing that is naturally built into our psyche? Indigenous cultures with their natural sense of Earth wisdom and awareness of the sacred in all things, seem always to have understood that human beings are coded for ritual - a childlike simplicity in which the unconscious mind speaks to the conscious mind. This is place where song comes from. In our fast paced lives most of us don't even know how to tune back to the health of the unconscious, uncluttered mind, let alone value the simple sacredness of a song. Perhaps listening to earthy, simple and gentle music that yet honors and employs natural tones from the indigenous - can reawaken our unconscious mind, and like dreams - put our knowledge back in order. Certainly here we invite you to listen from the heart, and explore for yourself the healing sounds of Bunny Sings Wolf.
