From the depths of a buffalo heart comes music with resonating melodies that transport thoughtful listeners down back roads to more restful - less stressful times.  Lyrical music word pictures and poignant story songs with universal themes pay reverent attention to the harmony and subtle energies of the natural world with teachings about kind treatment and respect for the land and its diversity of creatures and cultures. The original Lakota-inflective Folk-indigenous songs of Bunny Sings Wolf also honor current and historic mid-western peoples and ways of living in peace.

Here is refreshingly INSIGHTFUL, sunrise BEAUTIFUL music to COMFORT your SOUL from the HEART of the SACRED Black Hills. ”White Haired Sunrise” is Spring breeze GENTLE with CRISP, MELODIC Native American flute harmonies over Bunny’s river rapids POWERFUL seasoned voice.  These PEACEFUL sounds and life-experienced lyrics are love lost MEMORABLE and EARTH HEALING teaching FULL, with acoustic guitar dancing around the edges.   With brand NEW flutes custom made for Bunny, used as harmonies on almost all of the 16 songs on this album (including Kate Wolf’s “Give Yourself to Love” and “These Time We’re Living In”) these original songs are comforting, peaceful sounds, just in time to send messages of hope, Freedom  and Peace  to a troubled world.

The music of Bunny Sings Wolf honors and brings forward the music of the late Kate Wolf.  However, the idea behind the CD cover art also pictures the honoring of the Wolf as it is meaningful to some indigenous cultures.    In legend it is said the Wolf comes from the Great Star Nation - the home of teachers, and it’s association with “moon energy” (feminine) portraying them as holding the secrets of nurturing, knowledge and wisdom - and in their songs, sharing the white haired grandmother wisdom in ways of peace and harmony for generations to come.

Sending a soulful voice in original, dream inspired songs about transformations and courageously facing the challenges of a constantly changing world - Bunny Sings Wolf music will calm the animal in you! This music journey from "Two Worlds Clash" to slower times and noteworthy places of the past, remembered by the "Lilac Bush and the Apple Tree" or upon the "Trail of Tears", in Bunny's second CD album released just before 9-11- 2001, hope and peace for the future, is subtly underscored throughout. Just as Plains Indian culture revolved around the buffalo, which meant true abundance - "all our needs are met" - this collection vibrates in resonance with Mother Earth, that buffalo abundance may yet abound, yes even after great times of uncertainly, for those who "read the signs". It concludes with an ancient Lakota prayer put to song with Native American Flute harmonies, requesting true peace for all our relations ...

Bunny's songs speak in beauty of natural and life nurturing spaces and the importance of living ways of cultivating peace and harmony among all our relations.  Mitakuye Oyasin  (Lakota-we are all related).

White Buffalo Calf Woman
Pte Sa We

A note about  Native American flutes, music, and story telling:   Just as a "French horn" is a particular type of musical instrument, "Native American flute" refers to a particular type of musical instrument and "Native American Storytelling" does not imply that it was presented by an enrolled member of a Federally-recognized tribal member.  A reviewer with the Rapid City Journal recently dubbed Bunny's music as "Lakota-inflective Folk".  This aptly describes the type and subject matter of  the original music  she shares, with the intent to build bridges among races of all people, Red, Yellow,  White and Black, and educate, show honor and respect for human BE-ings, Lakota and ALL other earth-nurturing, Native American and indigenous life-ways, perspectives and cultures.  Click to See Bunny's Workshops Pages.

Although Bunny has a rich mix of Native American ancestry, has learned from, shared and associated with many well respected "Federally-recognized"  Native American tribes, tribal elders, chiefs, and medicine people, she has well researched the stories and teachings she shares with great conviction while she plays Native American flutes in music that is enjoyed and endorsed by many prominent card carrying Native Americans,  Bunny Sings Wolf's music does NOT claim to be "Native American made"  as is now specified by the U.S. Government.   IF it is your desire to listen only to music made by an enrolled member of a "federally-recognized"  "Native American", you may find them through a web search.  Please Click HERE for thorough and very interesting coverage of this subject, as well as present laws on freedom of religion for Native Americans - note also the section "You Don't Look Indian" on  Page 11

Most asked question:    "How can I get a copy of Bunny's latest new songs that I  heard at her concerts?"

Most of Bunny's ORIGINAL SONGS (upward of 320 at last count) have "arrived" usually at 3:00 a.m., in the form of dreams  since Bunny has been living at home in the Black Hills.  Waking her from deep sleep - playing in her head - complete with words and music, she records them, to learn and share later. In honoring this unique music gift, Bunny feels a solemn responsibility to the Creator to use her voice and carry these songs to as many people as possible.  Lyrics of some of these songs, yet unreleased on CD, may be found on Unreleased Lyrics page.
