Bunny's songs

living ways of cultivating
peace and harmony among all our relations. Mitakuye

If music stimulates us to growth, to awaken
to change, to dance, to reflect, to respond to life in a new way
(as does many an art form) then it becomes like "medicine" with
the ability to comfort, transform, and yes, even heal. This
page goes deeper into some of the ways that healing works, and how our most
ancient ancestors - Stone Nation - from childhood have
deeply influenced and inspired the songs, and
become a large part of the "medicine" I carry as I
continually learn to resonate with the messages I've personally "heard" from the ancient ones as
I endeavor to walk
and grow as a
conscious and authentic human BE-ing looking for every way to
honor life as a simple
Way-shower,
one in service to others (some call this being a
Lightworker ) in
these great times of transformation upon Mother Earth.
* The "Church" of Love *
* It has no fabric, only understanding.
* It has no membership, save those who know they belong.
* It has no rivals, because it is non-competitive.
* It has no ambition, it seeks only to serve.
* It has no boundaries, for nationalisms are unloving.
* It is not of itself, because it seeks to enrich all groups and
religions.
* It has no secret, no acronym, no initiation save that of true
understanding
of the power of love and that, if we want it to be so, the world
will change,
but only if we change ourselves first.
* It acknowledges all great teachers of all ages who have shown
the
truth of love.
* Its participants will practice the truth of love in all their
being.
* It seeks not to teach but to be, and in being, to enrich.
* It recognizes the whole planet as a Being of which we are all
a
part.
* It recognizes that the time has come for the supreme
transmutation, the ultimate
alchemical act of conscious change of the world-ego into a
voluntary return to
the Whole.
* It does not proclaim itself with a loud voice, but in the
subtle
realms of loving.
* It salutes all those in the past who have blazed the path and
have paid the price.
* Its members shall know each other by their deeds and being,
and
by their eyes,
and by no other outward sign save the fraternal embrace.
* Its members will dedicate their lives to the silent loving of
their neighbor and
environment and the planet, while carrying out their task,
however exalted or
humble.
* It recognizes the supremacy of the Great Idea which may only
be
accomplished
if the human race practices love.
* It has no reward to offer either here or in the hereafter save
that of the ineffable
joy of being and loving.
* Its members shall seek to advance the cause of understanding,
doing good by
stealth, and teaching only by example.
* Its members shall heal their neighbors, their community and
our
planet.
* Its members shall know no fear and feel no shame, and their
knowledge shall
prevail over all odds.
* All those who belong, belong to the church of love.
"The Church of Love" is a prophetic vision for our time
left by the Cathers, the last known of whom were burned
alive in France in 1244 AD ...
For countless centuries all around the globe,
sun warmed, and stream cooled Stones have been used in ceremony
by indigenous peoples as part of a highly respected and beneficial
means to achieve holistic
wellness.
Now YOU can benefit from a soothing , deep, yet gently
therapeutic session
preserved from a unique and ancient health enhancing modality . .
.
From the warm and health nurturing mineral Stone Nation,
penetrating heat invites the muscles to soften with ease while the
stones have a unique way of
drawing tension, stress or pain from the body.
Application of refreshing cool stones reduces inflammation and
swelling, especially beneficial where injuries are involved.
The combination of pressure, warmth, weight and/or coolness from
these stones create a powerful treatment.
The stress relief, nurturing and healing properties provided
through geo-thermal treatment are sought after, and embraced by
clients and health professionals at exclusive spas, treatment
centers and resorts around the globe.
Hot and Cold Stone Massage Ceremony has been reported by some
people to:
Stones used in
Stone Medicine are known as the Stone People or the Stone Tribe.
Most Medicine
Men, Medicine Women and Shamans believe these stones are living
historians.
These stones
hold the wisdom of the ancient healers and when applied to the body
during ceremonial healing rituals, this wisdom is released.
Respect and honor for the Stone Tribe is held as a sacred law for
anyone who would attempt to serve wellness through hot or cold stone
treatment processes.
Traditional
methods of recognizing the power of the Stone Tribe teach the
practitioner how to honor these gifts offered by Creator.
Science is
proving the healing properties of the stone tribe. Cobalt used in
cancer treatments, calcium for osteoporosis, copper for relief of
arthritis symptoms, iron for anemia and many other minerals are
ingested or applied to balance the body in wellness.

Human Beings in good
relationship with Mother Earth equals
WELLNESS!
What better way to awaken to this harmonic
relationship than by experiencing this ancient stone ceremony?
We
invite you to place yourself in the comforts
of a peaceful atmosphere where the warmth of healing stones are
allowed to melt away tension from the depths of your very being.
Warm stones glide and rest upon your body
assisting you to nurture yourself back into balance with these
gifts from the natural world, offering nurturing, relaxing
refreshment to renew body, mind, spirit. Cool stones
comfort by reducing pain and swelling in places of stress or injury.
Come experience profound relaxation as you ease
yourself into the blissful alpha state of consciousness.
Treat yourself or a loved one to experience this ancient
indigenous modality brought forward.
When an individual is out of balance physically, spiritually or
emotionally they are not in harmony with the natural rhythms of
Mother Earth, so a reconnection is imperative to restore well
being.
When the practitioner of Stone Medicine offers the Stone
People to the body during ceremony they are recognizing this
connection. The practitioner is not performing magic but rather
they are witnessing the marvelous life-nurturing work of Creator.
Simply
rubbing the body with heated stones can not affect emotional and
spiritual aspects of well being.
A true Shaman has
learned to ‘hear’ the song of the Stone Tribe from early childhood, and
through this understanding within relationship, knows how to
‘follow’ the Stone people as they coax negativity and pain from
the body.
By understanding the sacred connection between the Stone
Tribe and the human body a practitioner can assist the client with
a deeply profound Geo-Thermal Therapy experience.
In Lakota-Dakota-Nakota (Sioux) cultures, those seeking the
comfort and healing properties of the geo-thermal benefits from
the Stone Nation, came to select women who were carefully
mentored, one-on-one, into traditional healing arts. Heated and
chilled stones were artfully applied to stiff, sore and aching
muscles, restoring the body, mind and spirit of family and friends
of every age and infirmity.
These women were respectfully called Inyan Oyate Pejuta Winyan
(Stone Nation Medicine Woman or Stone Walkers, since they
"walked" the stones to where they needed to be placed for optimum
health).
STONE CEREMONY -
A TRADITIONAL GIFT - AND UNDERSTANDING THE
“GOOD TRADE”
Stone ceremony from a Stone Walker is a gift
thus the Stone Walker will personally never require a set fee or "price",
for traditionally ceremony may not be "charged",
"billed" nor or "paid" for as in other modern massage therapies or
wellness treatments provided by state licensed personnel.
These ancient ways that come through generations of
practitioners who passed along this craft, were considered as
priceless as a sunrise, a gift from Creator, and from this Source
this gift passes and is offered willingly and freely through the
hands of the "hollow bone" - Inyan Oyate Pejuta
Winyan.
Thus,
traditionally the "good trade" would be practiced
by gifting in appreciation for the bringing of this treatment forward from the ancestors and through her
many hours of training with her mentors, her lifetime of
learning to “listen” to the stones, while still living in the
modern world where living quarters, travel expenses, utilities,
clothing, supplies and food must be paid for in modern currencies
to sustain her life walk in this practice.
If
this Geo-thermal Therapy is offered in another persons' home or in
a spa,
business office, resort or treatment center, a fee based on expenses to provide the space, personnel, utilities, etc. to make
this modality available, will be asked to provide appropriate
compensation for these facilities and to provide for the
Stone Walker for the time she
has
offered in services. Individual "tips" or gifts of
money or other material items gifted directly to the Stone Walker
are most appropriate, and accepted with gratitude as your
expression of heart appreciation and your appropriate practice of the good trade.
In
gratitude I thank you for your openness in exploring the meanings
behind words and "labels". Shaman is a name for those who seek
out truth behind hidden things, and those who have ability to
transform and make changes. Thus in many ways, if we are
growing, we may all be called "Shaman" by some degree or another.
I do pray all the transformations we make are from darkness to
light, from dis-ease to wholeness and wellness, from sadness to joy,
for all our relations for Blessings and peace and to honor life. In
searching for truth in all troubling situations, we manifest
healing, though painful for a time. A true Shaman understands that
suffering is a corrective! Walk in beauty, for life is the
great gift.

The
human body is made up of the same minerals found in the Stone
Tribe. With upwards of 70% of the body being water, there is a
beautiful dance between the stones and the water used for warming
them. This geothermal treatment is enhanced by the ceremonial
application process.
Generally speaking the best stone composition for a hot stone
treatment is basalt. This type of stone holds the heat longer. The
exterior texture should be smooth and free of flaws. Water is the
great sculptor of the Stone Tribe and many basalt stones are
collected from river banks and ocean shores. Stones collected
during a gathering ceremony and blessed by spiritually enlightened
people are amazing to work with. Anyone who plans to learn Stone
Medicine will want to purchase stones from an approved resource.
Cold stone therapy is essential for a variety of physical injuries
and illnesses. Cold stone therapy has been used for grief therapy
by ancient Shamanic practitioners for eons. One of the nicest
Stone Tribes for cold stone therapy comes from the Marble family.
When chilled for several minutes the marble will hold the cold
temperature for an extended treatment process

FROMINYAN KARA
(Inyan Kara - Lakota words
meaning formed of stones, cause to be,
stone made, Creator!)
Earth wisdom keepers have always honored the Rock or Stone
Nation, and many of us knew as children the sacredness of that
moment when we first discovered and picked up in wonder, our very first stone.
Even in later centuries, the Bible recorded words coming from a
great teacher and prophet as saying regarding these times in which
we live..."Peace in the heavens and glory in the highest
places!...I tell you, if these remained silent,
the stones would cry out (speak)."
In Lakota-Dakota-Nakota cultures (Sioux), Inyan Oyate
(Stone People or Stone Nation)
were recognized as our first and most ancient relatives. In the
very beginning the rock ones were credited with giving their life
blood to create all other things; and prophets,
shamans, teachers
and seers carried sacred stones for the purpose of teaching
balance of body, mind, spirit. Yes, from the sacred stone tablets written upon
by the "hand of God" to the many sacred sites abundant with
sacred stone monuments,
and now through the crystal "power" of our computers searching the world wide web we are finally able to see the deep
connection sacred Stone Walkers have shared with Mother Earth in
wisdom, education, bringing about balance, healing, and in life and wellness honoring ceremonies.
The word Winyan (a Lakota word for Woman, a
word earned by one who demonstrates maturity, education,
truthfulness, honor, respect, and response-ability)
also represents
birth and the beginning.
The Lakota culture recognizes, and many old legends, proverbs, and
cultural stories from many tribes teach that INYAN (stone),
was the first Creation, and closely related to Winyan.
And what is it the rock solid wisdom
of Inyan Oyate "says"?
Personal Integrity with Global
Awareness - Empowerment of Self and Others - Service to humanitarian and
Universal Causes
all
of which add up to healing and wholeness for humankind, Mother
Earth, and all our relations!
The time for prophecies of old to come forward in fulfillment now
unfolds, and once again this sacred connection of life source stone
and feminine life-nurturing wisdom energies come together as the ceremonies
of Inyan Pejuta resume to reflect and respect wellness, life,
and all the resources that create and nurture life on our planet.
As two-legged human beings awaken to these sacred ways in practice
and in walking in a sacred manner on Mother Earth, our connection to
energetic harmony and the SOURCE of life is finally, once again,
respected. Imbalances now have
opportunity to heal, and for this, the stones are ready to now
"cry out" and give of their gifts through those few who
still carry and honor them
in wellness practice -
the Stone Walkers.

A note about
Native American flutes, music, and story telling:
Just as a "French
horn" is a particular type of musical instrument, "Native American
flute" refers to a particular type of musical instrument and "Native
American Storytelling" does not imply that it was presented by an
enrolled member of a Federally-recognized tribal member. A
reviewer with the Rapid City Journal recently dubbed Bunny's music as
"Lakota-inflective Folk". This aptly describes the type and
subject matter of the original music she shares, with the intent to build bridges
among races of all people, Red, Yellow, White and Black, and educate, show honor and respect for
human BE-ings, Lakota and
ALL other earth-nurturing, Native American and indigenous life-ways, perspectives and cultures.
Although Bunny has a rich mix of first nations ancestry, has learned from,
shared and associated with many well respected
"Federally-recognized" Native American Indian tribes, tribal elders,
chiefs, and medicine people, she has well researched the
stories and teachings she shares with great conviction while she plays Native American flutes in music that is
enjoyed and endorsed by many prominent card carrying Native Americans, Bunny
Sings Wolf's music does NOT claim to be "Native American made" as
is now specified by the U.S. Government. IF it is your
desire to listen only to music made by an enrolled
member of a "federally-recognized" "Native American"
musicians, you may
find them through a web search.
