Four
winds carry me and blow upon my way, Take me
beyond the mundane and obscene
With
spread wings I stretch along the roads past traffic jams and lights
To coast
upon the thermals of my dreams, To coast
upon the thermals of my dreams.
Four
winds breathe within me, and with your power hold , Hold
me in the dragonflies sacred song
In
the four directions center me, within your power enfold
The
sacred things that in my life belong,
And blow away the refuse of all wrong
Blow upon my heart, blow upon my life,
Four
winds blow and carry me away
Carry me
to sing in hearts our Mother’s sacred songs
And to
the darkness help me bring the day
In the
sunshine of the music light the way.
Four winds blow upon me the compass winds of love,
And keep me from being tossed by any storm.
For in the center, in the eye, far from any harm
Creator’s breath will keep us safe and warm
And beauty, peace and harmony adorn
Four Winds! Four
Winds! Four Winds! Four Winds!
North, East, South & West, with every Mile I go, I ride upon the Four
Winds Power flow - And learn to hear the messages they blow.
Their song is written in
the mountains, whispered in the trees
Urging me to sing and dance and PLAY
Teaching of the Wisdom of our Mother’s Sacred Songs,
And in the darkness roaring as I pray
And in the rolling of their music, lead the way.
Four Winds! Four
Winds!
Four Winds! Four
Winds! carry me!

White Cloud, Blue Sky, Green
grass, don't cry, for soon, you'll be, a part of me once again, my
friend, on Mother Earth
Fast Horse,
Little Man,
Ghost Wolf,
you can,
be here, on this land, once again on Mother Earth.
Mother Earth, Mother Earth! All
your people shall LIVE! All at home, in harmony, in unity you will
live! Mitakuye Oyasin!
Who you are is what you are and
you are me, and I am you, and who I am is what I am and we are one,
yet two. What we think is what we do, and what we do is what we
dream, and what we dream we call to BE and I am you, and you are me
We dream, we think, we do, we see and what we think all comes to BE,
We manifest, we manifest - so let's dream again of the flowering
tree!
Spotted Eagle, Little Bird, Pretty
Weasel, Buffalo Herd, don't let your dreams get blurred, you'll see
them all clearly, for you're a part of me
My Friend, on Mother Earth.
In this rainbow dream, flowering tree,
sacred hoop, dancing free in the sunflowers' song, buzzing bumble bee,
yes, you'll all live once again, as friends, on Mother Earth.
Mother Earth, Mother Earth! All
your people shall LIVE! All at home, in harmony, in unity you will
live! Mitakuye Oyasin!
We sing, we dance, we love, we
cry, we grow, we crawl, we hope, we fly we're born together in LIFE
sublime and manifest each thought in time. We ump, we run under
the sun, we sigh we groan under the moon, we wonder why sad goes so slow
and fun things pass along too soon
Yet none can plus or detract - they can not add or under-mine-us We
manifest our life and time
We manifest, we manifest - WE MANIFEST!
Black Elk, Red Cloud, Yellow Horse,
White Bear , in
unity you'll too live here, yes, ALL your people shall LIVE at home,
My Friend, on Mother Earth.
Mother Earth, Mother Earth! All
your people shall LIVE! All at home, in harmony, in unity you will
live! Mitakuye Oyasin!
There is no harm or benefit
aside from what we plan each of us just manifests from crawling thing
to man And you'll remember when you know, the way you walk is the way
you'll go
For the way we think is the way we see
WE MANIFEST!
WE MANIFEST!
WE MANIFEST! Mitakuye Oyasin!
Just days after
September 11, 2001 ,
on a solitary prayer hill on the prairie
within walking distance of
Mike Little Man's house on the Pine Ridge
Reservation (where, during that time I also received my buffalo heart) a
rock, like a Television screen lit up in the middle of the night,
flashing thousands upon thousands of the many faces of my relatives from
many different tribes. I remember apologizing to the angels
who lovingly showed this to me, for my not being able to remember all
their names as they were introduced to me, as thousands of faces per
second were shown upon the rock face! At 3:00 a.m., June 20,
2002 I awoke from sleep after a dream, a "re-run" of the
Television rock vision I'd received that week of 9-11-01, after
which this song was gifted to me with just a few of the names given of
the many I had "met" that first night on my solitary hill on Pine
Ridge Reservation, Since then I have been amazed to have
personally met some of these people now living, recognized pictures of
others on newscasts about the 9-11-01 event, and others I recognize as I
have discovered them in books or from posters or photos at websites that
have come to my attention, as famous Native American leaders and chiefs who
have lived before; certainly this very real, strange and wonderful
experience and the song to commemorate it has made me feel part of
a very large and distinguished family with these faces of the many people I now recognize
as relatives.
Red Cloud Song

How the songs
came to be:
April 2006 on a
visit to aging Chief Oliver Red Cloud's home on Pine Ridge (reservation)
South Dakota, he requested of me that I write a "Red Cloud" song.
He stated that both Johnny Cash and Marty Stewart had been asked to do
this in years past. Though songs had been written with the "name"
Red Cloud, Oliver told me he was still waiting for the song in the way
his heart told him it should be. I respectfully speculated that
only IF the song came in a dream could I "write" it, since this is the
way the songs come to me. Four months later the words and music
came, in a dream, but I had NO transportation or money to make the trip to Pine Ridge to sing it for him! Now, thanks to
the October
2007 W.E.A.V.E. benefit concerts that
paid for my travel
expenses - I was able to visit Pine Ridge Reservation and sing this song in person to the 89 year old Chief
Oliver Red Cloud on the very day (Oct. 15) when online and academy
voting concluded on my
song "Prophecy Keeper"
nominated BEST
by Canada's 2007 Aboriginal Peoples Music Awards.
Upon hearing the
song (his son Paul played the drum for me) Oliver told me that from now
on, when I sing, I should tell people that I am singing for "Lakota
Oyate" (Lakota Nation). Deeply humbled, to my heart this proclamation
from the Chief was a greater honor for me than receiving any "popular" music
award! Quite surprised and embarrassed by the thought, I
replied "Won't this announcement make a lot of
people very angry with me?!?"
Chief Oliver Red
Cloud, a bit indignant at my hesitancy, retorted:
"I am Chief
Oliver Red Cloud over many generations of Lakota-Dakota-Nakota, seven
bands! I say YOU are singing for Lakota Oyate." He folded his arms
as if to say "that is the end of the subject", and with Paul broadly
smiling in approval behind him, I felt humbled indeed! Oliver went
on to say that when I get the song recorded on my next CD, he would like
some copies to share with the many people that visit his home from all
around the world who travel there to learn more about this ancient
culture and the descendants who now struggle to live in two worlds - one
of broken promises, and one of sacred dreams. Since this music
that comes in dreams seems to have an energy all its' own, I have no
doubt the way to record this song will manifest. In the meantime,
I share these lyrics with you, dear reader, with intent for peace for
ALL our relations, and relationships. Indeed, Mitakuye Oyasin (Lakota -
we are all related).
Red Cloud, Red Cloud you must
be wekotgo
You
said, you said, follow the old way
So far,
so far I’ve come and nothing,
Nothing
seems to work out right.
People
talk about me, and the OLD ways to be
Don’t
work out, don’t work out right!
I’m out
of harmony.
Red
Cloud, Red Cloud you must be wekotgo
You said,
you said, follow the new way
So far,
so far I’ve come and nothing,
Nothing
seems to work out right.
People
talk about me, and the NEW ways to be
Don’t
work out, don’t work out right!
I’m out
of harmony.
Looking
for harmony, Looking for harmony! So far we’ve come now as two worlds
clash!
wekotgo, wekotgo, wekotgo!
(Crazy! Crazy! Crazy!)
As all
our relatives learn to live - in balance, in beauty, in harmony.
Red
Cloud, Red Cloud you must be wekotgo
You
said, you said, follow Great Spirit
So far,
so far we’ve come and everything,
Everything worked out right.
No
matter what people say, we’ve learned to live in the NEW old ways
We’re
living, We’re living
in
harmony.
Red
Cloud, Red Cloud keep living
In
balance, in beauty, in harmony.

Bunny's
NEWest song!
© 2007
Hillbunny Productions - Lyrics
and Music from a dream given to Bunny Sings Wolf 8-11-07
On August 10, 2007, Marlene Locke (Lakota Oyate) of Pine Ridge reservation asked me to
write this song for her cousin who has been working hard to bring back
the buffalo on Pine Ridge. He has a small herd that he has been
caretaking just four miles from her house, who are honored in their
gifts to the tribe in their presence again on this land and to help
supply items made for ceremonial purposes. As with the request
from Chief Oliver
Red Cloud for his song, I replied to
Marlene that IF this song comes in a good way in a dream, then it will
be so. One day later, (8-11-7) I awoke from a dream with
this song playing in my head and heart.
It is
in the key of #F (the key of Mother Earth, I was told by Mark Nelson,
who created the last of the 9 White buffalo "bird" flutes he has
carved for me over last 6 years, and which I had received just
days before Marlene's song request). This last flute of the
numbered "collection" I have been gifted by Mark Nelson is a "drone"
flute (two sound barrels so that it harmonizes with itself!). It
is made of Spruce (the same wood as my guitar for resonance and harmony)
and has TWO white buffalo standing side by side perched regally atop on
the "bird". I plan to take this flute to Pine Ridge and sing this
song for Marlenes' cousin and the buffalo herd on October 15, 2007 - the
same day the online voting for the
Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards
comes to a conclusion, in which my
Prophecy
Keeper song was nominated.
I called Marlenes' cousin last week to
tell him I would be there to sing this song for him. He was
delighted and said the song name in Lakota would be Tatanka I Hanble.
So at that time I told him that would be the name of this song instead
of "Buffalo Dreams". He told by way of way of translation
its pictures the meaning - "dreaming of buffalo."
All of this touches my heart so, as I
write this today (10-8-07) , so before I pack for my trip for South
Dakota WEAVE benefit concerts, I think I will send an email now to the
National Buffalo Museum and join the contest to name White Clouds' new
baby, for - Tatanka I Hanble - (Dreaming of Buffalo)
seems like a good name in the ways of this dream song.
Here are
the lyrics for
Tatanka I Hanble
as they came in that dream (and DREAM is
what I hope they name him:
Buffalo Dreams
beyond the pain
Let it go, let it
go.
Buffalo Dreams of
hope again
Let it flow, let it
flow.
Thundering hooves
upon the plains
Bountiful,
Beautiful
Bringing back the
people again
Bountiful, Beautiful
Circle full, round
and full, from all the four directions
See their light,
blazing bright
In full spectrum
color reflections
Buffalo nations sing
again
Loud and Proud,
Loud and Proud
Buffalo Dreams
we’ll walk as friends
Proud and Strong,
Proud and Strong
All our relations,
All Mother Earths’ Nations
Friends and allies…
Buffalo Dreams!

OUR TREASURE

The snowflakes whirl around
our door, while we stay warm inside
They dance and swirl
then freeze upon the glass
The things that
happen there outside, don’t matter anymore,
For here inside
we’ve found the things that last
The outside riches
left behind are past.
|
And from the front
door windowpane, we watch as Spring grass grows
While vines entwine the
stump of the chopped down tree, |
 |
|
We hear the ticking
clock give chime as the hours and minutes pass
Knowing the only
time that matters is here with you and me |
And the things
outside are just a memory….
No longer does it
matter to be part of the world outside
That chisels and
chips away at all our dreams
For now we own
without a debt the yearnings of our hearts
We are no longer the
profits of outside schemes,
We know the world
outside’s not what it seems.
No longer do we wish
to hear a knock upon our door
No longer look for those who "say" they’re caring
All those outside
activities don’t matter anymore
Our treasure is this
love that
we are sharing
Our treasure is -
Our treasure is -
Our treasure is -
LOVE

Golden Days Ahead

Answers to questions that cannot be found
Make the weight of your problem - as your head spins around
You can't sew - and stitch - to fix this tear
To mend - your own torn heart
Sun is shining - not a cloud in the sky
But I see the black of a storm in your eye
You need to heal the hurt that's there
And time - can give you a start
Toward golden days ahead, beyond what you know I've been there before,
and I'm here to tell you so
You just need time -to heal the wounds that hurt you now
Mine have healed, and I'll gladly show you how.
Lookin' back on the life you've lead
Do you feel it's a story that's never been read
You're turning the pages but soon you'll see
The life - you've been looking for.
Ya got to leave the past behind
Untangle the memories tied up in your mind
Look to the road that lies ahead, And soon - you'll hurt no more!
In golden days ahead, beyond what you know I've been there before, and
I'm here to tell you so
You just need time to heal the wounds that hurt you now
Mine have healed, and I'll gladly show you how.
You're headed for golden days ahead, beyond what you know I've been
there before, and I'm here to tell you so
You just need time to heal the wounds that hurt you now
Mine have healed, and I'll gladly show you how.
Time will Heal Time WILL HEAL TIME WILL HEAL --- to Golden Days ahead.

A Table of Four
The Waitress
Song - inspired by Chris' waitress working
days at Hill City's Alpine Inn
©2001 Hillbunny Productions - Music by Chris Voyles, Words by Chris Voyles and Bunny Sings
Wolf
I work at a diner, 8 hours a day, my boss
is alright, the pay is Ok
Well some nights we're busy, and some nights we're slow,
But when closing time comes I'm ready to go.
Well tonight I made money, and I tell ya that's sweet,
But right now I'm so tired I can't pick up my feet
Now the place is all empty and I think I'm home free,
But I look out the window and what do I see?
Table of four at a quarter of nine - if they only knew what I had on
my mind
I've been here all day almost out the door now at a quarter of nine
- comes a table for four
So I serve them their dinner, I laugh and I joke, but I'd really just-
like to give them a poke
They're in no hurry as I hold back a tear I'd rather be home on the
couch with a beer
Table of four at a quarter of nine - if they only knew what I had on
my mind I've been here all day
I'm almost out the door
'Til a quarter of nine - came a table for four
Well at half past ten - I felt so down hearted
After 12 cups of coffee - they finally departed
As I cleaned up the dishes - I just bit my lip
When under one plate I found a ONE dollar tip!
As he locked up the kitchen - the cook said goodnight
We both were too tired - to put up a fight -
As we took off our aprons - to hang by the door,
We vowed never again to serve a table of four
Table of four at a quarter of nine - if they only knew what we had on
our minds
We'd been there all day -almost out the door 'til a quarter of nine
- came a table for four!
What do you think, Joe - tomorrow night let's lock up a little early!
That was one LOOOONG DAY!

In Memory
Words and Music by Bunny Sings Wolf ©2002 Hillbunny Productions All

A spark, a seed of corn, a prayer, a tiny
baby born
A dream that comes to one at night, a wing that blurs a bird in flight.
A hope, a whisper, a word, a sunshine ray, rainbow colors blurred,
A snowflake, moonbeam, tender flower, a second, a minute in a busy hour.
Things that pass so fast, then go.
Precious, with no afterglow,
Bundles of light, of energy, things of life that set us free,
Now a memory.
A thought, a smile, a tender touch, a word of comfort that means so
much.
One step of many on the trail, a helping hand on an elbow, frail.
A taste, a fragrance, brief but sweet, that special knowing when eyes
meet,
That look, a giggle, a silly grin, the way hands cup a tiny chin.
Things that pass so fast, then go.
Precious, with no afterglow,
Bundles of light, of energy, things of life that set us free,
Now a memory.
A star, a sprout, a candle flame, the moment when they call your name,
A lightning flash, a drop of rain, and how it feels to start over again.
That little wobbly baby stand, that un-asked for helping hand,
The shadow that follows wherever we are
The near in traveling that turns to far,
A belief, a moment when one feels, we are not alone and it's all too
real.
A gesture, a breeze, a leap of faith, a fall to sleep, a quick awake,
Dancing slowly across the floor, that final click of a closing door,
A kiss goodbye, a welcome hug, questions unanswered with a shrug,
The quiet hush before the storm, that cuddly blanket full of warm.
Things that pass so fast, then go.
Precious, with no afterglow,
Bundles of light, of energy, things of life that set us free,
Keep in memory.

PRAYER
Words and Music by Bunny Sings Wolf ©2002 Hillbunny Productions All

A wish on the wind, a wish on the wind,
to Great Mystery I send
My words to my best friend
It's not something explainable, a miracle some would say
The Great Mysterious is a happening, an adventure for each day
And when I face the stillness and speak into the sky I know someone
is listening, and my heart begins to fly with my
wish on the wind, a wish on the wind,
to Great Mystery I send
My words to my best friend
Funny how the expression comes at just the moment - minute
When I get close to forgetting, there may a gift in it
But then as an eagle flies, or a word comes from a friend
in passing, I find abundant answers to the questions I've been asking,
When I send my wish on the wind, a wish on the wind,
to Great Mystery I send
My words to my best friend
The skeptics would deny it, but history clearly shows
This way of approach to problems, enhances how we grow
Continuing the process, to the great illustrious day
When all will know completeness
From these very words we pray
A wish on the wind, a wish on the wind,
to Great Mystery I send
My words to my best friend

NEVERMIND
© Words and Music by Bunny Sings Wolf 2001 Hillbunny Productions
All Rights Reserved
I never knew acceptance - only knew about
fear
Didn't know security - only knew about tears
My life's been based on worry - my life's been based on doubt
My emotions were my guideposts - they turned me inside out.
But then I met your peacefulness and I began to see
The kind of joy and happiness that could bring out the LOVE in me
Now I'm learning about trusting - learning about peace
About relationships and sharing - so don't give up on me, please.
NEVERMIND THE ANGER, NEVERMIND THE PAIN
SAY GOODBYE TO HEARTACHE, AND FEEL WHOLE AGAIN
NEVERMIND THE ANGUISH - I'LL LET GO AND TRUST THIS TIME
TO THE PAIN I ONCE LIVED THROUGH I'LL SAY NEVERMIND.
I just want to walk into my life - and see the beauty of love flower
To know again the mystery - of each minute in each hour
And hear a song ring in my being - the world can share in perfect time
When each day has its own purpose - and love songs always ryhyme,
Yes, give up chasing nightmares - give up playing games
Stand tall under the sunshine - stop looking for clouds of rain
No, changing isn't easy, but I'M A GIRL WHOSE REALLY tryin'
To the pain I once lived through, I SAY NEVERMIND.

Miles

Miles
are only little
Uncomfortable pins
Stuck in my heart and they pain me
only when,
I think of their great number.
But what would truly end my hearts joy
Would be to have all these pins removed
With my heart near and warm to you
Close enough to love your presence
As well as the thought of you
Then to find the killing knife of indifference Descending.
They say that distance makes love grow fonder, I hope it's true.
And I pray when we're together,
me and you,
That we'll be closer yet, at least that's how I see it, I hope you do
too!
But in the meantime… Miles are only little Uncomfortable pins Stuck
in my heart and they pain me only when, I think of their great number.
But what would truly end my hearts joy
Would be to have all these pins removed
With my heart near and warm to you
Close enough to love your presence
As well as the thought of you
Then to find the killing knife of indifference
Descending.

Black Hills Wopila
(A THANK YOU SONG) Words and Music by Bunny Sings Wolf ©2002 Hillbunny Productions All
Rights Reserved 12-20-01
Black Hills gifted me with music, star
filled skies gave me a song, long nights made a time for my learning
-
Trees whispered the words of my yearning while Grass waved goodbye to
the wrong.
Deer taught me the ways of loving, spider web wrote the words of the
dream
Pine cones danced in the wind breeze - To the new possibilities
As music notes splashed up in the Black Hills streams
And her quiet kissed the tears from my aching, and healed me in places
that hurt
And in Back roads that wound the full length - I soaked up all her deep
strength
Stored up in her rocks and her dirt.
I'll never know why she saw in me, a place to drop her beautiful seed.
Perhaps the soil of my life, was fertile, and ready with a heart full
of need.
Perhaps its just the way that all right things happen, when you spend
your life singing to trees -
One day they sing back when you listen, to their beauty rich with sweet
melodies.
Now The wind cross the prairies has beckoned me, the clouds on the hills
called my name
They told me to sing the song of
the Black Hills - I wasn't looking for fortune or fame.
Yes, I know that this gift is so special, like tides that are drawn
from the moon
This Music flows from somewhere eternal, while life seems to pass by
all too soon.
Yes, the Black Hills gifted me with music, to sing from the heart of
my soul
And I sing of these things from night visions -
As I follow her tracks in the night snow
And the song takes me to where I need go.
And the song takes me to where I need go.

A note about
Native American flutes, music, and story telling:
Just as a "French
horn" is a particular type of musical instrument, "Native American
flute" refers to a particular type of musical instrument and "Native
American Storytelling" does not imply that it was presented by an
enrolled member of a Federally-recognized tribal member. A
reviewer with the Rapid City Journal recently dubbed Bunny's music as
"Lakota-inflective Folk". This aptly describes the type and
subject matter of the original music she shares, with the intent to build bridges
among races of all people, Red, Yellow, White and Black, and educate, show honor and respect for
human BE-ings, Lakota and
ALL other earth-nurturing, Native American
and indigenous life-ways, perspectives and cultures.

Although Bunny has a rich mix of Native American ancestry, has learned from,
shared and associated with many well respected
"Federally-recognized" Native American tribes, tribal elders,
chiefs, and medicine people, she has well researched the
stories and teachings she shares with great conviction while she plays Native American flutes in music that is
enjoyed and endorsed by many prominent card carrying Native Americans, Bunny
Sings Wolf's music does NOT claim to be "Native American made" as
is now specified by the U.S. Government. IF it is your
desire to listen only to music made by an enrolled
member of a "federally-recognized" "Native American", you may
find them through a web search.

Bunny's Fans ask:
WHAT ABOUT FUTURE CD'S? MORE
NEW SONGS?
YES! If you have been to one of Bunny's
live performances you know she is always joyful about writing and
performing her many ORIGINAL SONGS (upward of 340 at last count). Most of these songs have
"arrived at 3:00 a.m." in dreams while she lives in the Black
Hills, waking her from deep sleep - playing in her
head - complete with words and music! She feels that sharing this "from
out of this world" music is a solemn responsibility to the Creator who
she feels has generously gifted her with these many new, and very timely
songs. If you wish to be added to an ongoing list of those who want to
be notified when new CD's containing these songs are available, or
